Andre, Grace, and Todd are on a two-day hike in the White Mountains. On Friday night, they arrive at the cabin near the peak of Mount Fortune. They're planning to climb to the peak the next morning and then hike down to the ranger's cabin by late afternoon.
Early on Saturday morning, they're woken by a violent thunderstorm. They check the weather forecast on the radio and decide to change their plans.

3. Saturday 5 p.m. – Andre is feeling worse. Todd checks Sunday's weather forecast. They decide to camp overnight so that Andre can warm up and they can get some rest. They discover that their cooking stove was in Andre's pack.
4. Sunday 8 a.m. – Andre is feeling better, so they pack up their camp and hike to the river. The river is very high, and the bridge is under water. They decide to leave the trail and look for a place to cross the river.
5. Sunday 11 a.m. – The hikers find a safe place to cross the river and discover an old trail that leads across the plain to the ranger's cabin.
6. Sunday 1 p.m. – A search-and-rescue team is looking for Andre, Grace, and Todd because they haven't returned from their hike. The search-and-rescue team reaches the river and discovers that the bridge is under water. They turn around and hike back to the start of the old trail.
7. Sunday 4 p.m. – The hikers meet up with the search-and-rescue team. They change into dry clothes and eat some hot food. Everyone makes it back to the ranger's cabin safely.
